What this check does not cover
Being straight about the limits matters more than a longer feature list. A TellData report does not include:

- CPR, first aid, or childcare certifications
- Employment verification or reference calls
- Credit history
- FCRA-compliant employment screening
For certifications and driving history, ask for the documents directly and verify with the issuing body. For a formal hire, use a Consumer Reporting Agency.

No. Searches are private and the person is not notified. That said, many families choose to tell candidates that a check is part of their process, which is both fair and often reassuring to good candidates.
A full name plus a phone number or email address is enough to start. Adding a state helps match court records, and an SSN deepens the identity and address trace.
The report includes watchlist and sanctions screening and a search of authoritative court and criminal databases. Public sex offender registries are also maintained state by state and by the U.S. Department of Justice, and are free to search directly — we recommend checking those as well.
Review usually means a detail did not line up — a phone in someone else’s name, or a civil matter such as a dispute or traffic case. The report explains what was returned so you can ask a direct question rather than assume the worst.
